I know this works with Win98, I'm not sure about Win95 (I think you have to have the Microsoft Plus! Pack, but I'm not positive) Anyway, the start-up and shut down screens are stored in your hard drive in various places. There are 3 of them. The start-up screen that shows when you start up your computer is called logo.sys and is located in the C:/ folder. The wait screen is what is shown when you are waiting for your computer to shut down, it's called logow.sys and is in the C:/Windows folder. The shutdown screen is that black screen saying it's OK to turn off your computer. It's called logos.sys and is also in your C:/Windows folder. But don't worry about that one, since I don't have a Volkswagen screen for that, it will just stay the same. All of these files are bitmaps and are a bit smaller than your screen size, don't worry, your computer stretchs each file so it fits your screen. That's why they look so choppy.

Before you install the screens it's a good idea to keep the originals, just in case. Or if you really don't care you can just over-write the files. Open Windows Explorer and find each file, then rename the extension to .old. So logo.sys would be logo.old and logow.sys would be logow.old. Then, still in Windows Explorer, change each extension of the downloaded files so it is .sys (that way Windows knows that its the file it should be using for the start-up and shut-down screens) If you leave them as bitmaps, it won't work. Then restart your computer and the new screens should come up. If not, then something is wrong and I can't help you.

I don't recommend you do this if you don't know anything about computers, cuz if you mess it up your computer won't be able to start without the screen. But it is fairly easy to do.

start screen shut down
Save in C:/ folder as a BITMAP! Save in C:/Windows folder as a BITMAP!
